‘Resisting the Settlements’.
Issa Amro from the inspiring Youth Against Settlements group in the West Bank.  He and YAS are internationally known for their commitment to non-violent activism against the illegal Israeli settlements in Hebron and the discriminatory restrictions placed on Palestinians by the Israeli authorities in the city.  Issa will talk about life as an activist trying to challenge the growth of the settlements.

Farid al-Atrash, a human rights lawyer and a member of the general assembly of the Popular Struggle Coordination Committee (a collective of Palestinian, community-based groups, campaigning to maintain their rights) will also join us.  He will talk about their campaigning work and talk about the charges they face in the Israeli military court.

‘British support for Zionism and Israel over the last 100 years’.
David Cronin, Irish journalist and political activist and author of ‘Balfour’s Shadow:  A Century of British Support for Zionism and Israel’, will then talk about how Britain supported the formation of Israel and how it has continued to support Israel since then.

We will have refreshments and a break between the talks.
