*Update* on … Palestinian Buffet and Film Fundraising Event in Leeds Sun. 12th October.

Belated report from organisers on the recent film (‘Where Should the Birds Fly?’) and meal event, posted on their fb event page;
Thank you to everyone who came along yesterday evening and made the event a success! And well done to all those helped with the organisation and to Rushdi and his family for hosting the event at their cosy restaurant – Fairuz in Leeds. It was a chilled out gathering, over delicious Palestinian cuisine, followed by the very powerful and potent film.

Some comments about the film:
“It’s opened my eyes to what’s happening in Gaza”
“A very indepth, informative film – very profound emotional impact”
“Horrified by the damage caused by phophorous”

We managed to raise £269.43 – thanks to all those who contributed – this will be sent to ‘Defence for Children International Palestine’ – non-governmental child rights organisation – working on child protection, juvenile justice, accountability, lobbying & legal work. You can learn more about what they do on: http://www.dci-palestine.org/ – be prepared for the case studies you read about the violation of children’s rights by Israeli army and do look up the video section – some powerful stuff there too! ….
We hope to have further screenings of last night’s film in Leeds… so watch this space…
