Israel’s struggle (Monday 14th June)

Where do the British “activists” get their money to make those ship journeys to Gaza? They all look fit and well and were very capable of attacking the boarding Israeli soldiers and provoking them. Hamas and the rich Arabs ignore their own people – they just want power and the annihilation of Israel. Israel is fighting for its very existence, being surrounded by hostile countries.

Israel has no alternative (Friday 18th June)

WITH 100 per cent predictability, the usual left-wing rabble has jumped on the anti-Israel bandwagon, without looking at what led up to Israel’s seizure of an aid flotilla.

The ship, despite its cargo of PC, anti-Israel, left-wing suckers, dupes and sandal-wearers, was also seething with militant and far from pacifist full-time Israel haters.

Hamas, the fanatical ruling party of Gaza, is bent on the destruction of Israel, continuing its war of attrition mainly through rockets and suicide bombings.

Israel has no alternative but to close its boarders. One thing World War Two taught the Jews is that walking meekly into the gas chambers will never happen again. What is certain is that Israel will continue to fight for its survival no matter what the cost.

Rather than being concerned about where British activists/ human rights observers get their money, maybe P Brooke (Letters, June 14) should be more concerned as to where Israel gets its money from Seven million US dollars A DAY from the USA, for Israel to use in its illegal occupation of Palestinian territories, the construction of illegal settlements, its barbaric blockade of Gaza, subjecting 1.4 million civilians to collective punishment… it is a disgrace that Israel has been allowed to get away for so long with abuse of the Palestinian people, it is a disgrace that many governments and organisations of the world are complicit with Israel.

Attacking an unarmed aid flotilla in darkness, and committing the despicable acts of piracy, kidnapping and murder in international waters clearly shows the world how Israel does not care what the rest of the world thinks, it knows it can act with impunity as it has done so for decades.

P Brooke’s assertion that ‘Israel is fighting for its very existence’ is a cynical, preposterous lie that is perpetuated to justify Israel’s illegal actions, war crimes and general vile conduct.

P Brooke’s letter seems a poor attempt to slander the murdered activists on the Gaza flotilla. He does not understand why Israel is so unpopular today.
Israel wages illegal pre-emptive war on all its neighbours, steals their land, and bombs women and children in Gaza while conducting an illegal blockade.
It also sends death squads abroad to murder opponents using forged British passports and conducts piracy and murder on the high seas to prevent peaceful protest.
It is in breach of numerous UN resolutions including holding a large stockpile of illegal nuclear weapons.
Israel is a rogue state that conducts its warmongering business without any reference to international law, or any sense of justice for the Palestinian people who are forcibly displaced, starved and killed at will.

Edna Levi, a regular writer to the YEP has written a letter recently (published on 7th July). Edna Levi in her confusion has accused her fellow Zionists Mr Brooke and Mr Nicholson of ranting! How true is that? The Zionist do not have a case to argue therefore they RANT, this is evident in these letters, as confirmed by Edna Levi unwittingly!

Edna Levi should research the BBC bias, a good place to start is the Channel 4 documentary that accuses BBC of pro-Israel bias, before she too starts her rants! The BBC refusal to air the Gaza DEC appeal in 2009 is primarily because of Zionist pressure. Channel 4 and ITV did not have a problem with it but Rupert Murdoch’s Sky and the BBC did. Edna Levi and the likes have failed to argue with reasoning and evidence as opposed to the pro-Palestinians.
